Coping with the Stress of a Claim

Coping with the Stress of a Claim

posted by Kathy Everitt on Friday, November 16, 2018

We get it. A malpractice claim can be stressful. We want to make sure you are coping with this stress. The stress can manifest itself as:

  • An inability to concentrate
  • An inability to cope with everyday tasks
  • Self-questioning of your overall clinical expertise

And, it can take a toll on:

  • Your relationship with your other patients
  • Your family
  • Your staff

That is why we are providing our policyholders with access to a professional emotional wellness counselor who will help them deal with the situation. Our Claims Assistance Program provides up to six, one-hour counseling sessions with a licensed and/or credentialed professional.

Being sued is overwhelming and doesn’t mean you’re not a good doctor. At NCMIC, we want to help you every step of the way.
